Violating Airport Regulations
Chris and I just had a very long week in Redmond in a debugging session for some training materials we are creating for MS on Team System. We were ready to get home and after only about a dozen bags came out of that belt at the baggage claim carousel, one of them had a loose strap hanging and got caught in the belt mechanism. We waited for a few minutes, there was nobody at that little help counter on the C15 baggage claim of DFW International, so we waited a little longer and then Chris decided he wanted to be everybody's hero (I think he really just wanted to get home), but his efforts were not very rewarding, he couldn't pull the thing out and we had to keep waiting for a little while, until the person from the counter came back and found out that there was a problem, he couldn't pull the strap either so he went and got some scissors and released the bag, but the belt still wouldn't move, for future reference, in case this ever happens to you, baggage claim belts stop automatically when there are problems, but scissors are not enoguh to resolve the issue, there is a little bright button by your feet that you have to press once the problem is resolved, or you can wait until someone without scissors but that really knows his job comes over to push the button.
P.S. Even though it may look like he is, Chris is not posing for the picture. He looked up as I was taking it.
